Designers now have a new way to build user experience testing directly into their Figma workflows. UserTesting, a customer experience research platform, has released an AI-powered plugin for the popular design app that turns Figma prototypes into live user tests in minutes. Designers simply describe their prototype and the task they want users to complete, and the plugin generates a test script with instructions, tasks, and follow-up questions. The result: faster feedback without the overhead of assembling a dedicated UX research team or manually building questionnaires.

“We’ve fundamentally changed the economics of customer insights,” Jennifer Artabane, UserTesting’s vice president of product, says. “When test design takes less than 60 seconds instead of 60 minutes, teams can validate ideas earlier, test more often, and ship with greater confidence, leading to high-quality experiences and better business outcomes.”

She states that UserTesting chose Figma for this launch because many of its designers already use it as their primary design tool. “Feedback from those users showed that they were frequently switching between Figma and UserTesting to gather insights, creating friction in their workflow. Integrating directly into Figma allows designers to collect user feedback where they already work, reducing context switching and accelerating decision-making.”

Imagine a designer working on multiple design concepts and needing quick feedback to determine which approach is strongest. With UserTesting for Figma, they can request feedback at any stage of the design process without switching to another application—everything happens on the same screen. The designer selects the design variations they wish to assess, adds a set of targeted questions, and launches the request immediately. Real human users submit feedback quickly.

So, where does the AI come into play? Artabane explains that AI is used for test creation and result analysis. Both are powered by UserTesting’s proprietary models.

And Figma is only the start. UserTesting is currently exploring other ways to embed its tech into more workflows and platforms, all thanks to the rise of AI agents and MCP servers.

This news comes weeks after UserTesting announced its acquisition of User Interview, a participant recruitment platform for user and market research and AI training. It’s also the latest in a series of AI innovations made by the company as it works to embed user insights more deeply—and earlier—into product development workflows.

The UserTesting for Figma plugin will be generally available in Q2 2026.
