As promised, Google is making the premium features of its NotebookLM app more widely accessible. Starting today, NotebookLM Plus is a part of the Google One AI Premium plan, joining Gemini Advanced, Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and other artificial intelligence offerings. In addition, Google is launching a student discount offering, allowing those 18 years and older to sign up for an AI Premium plan using their personal Google account for 50 percent off ($9.99 per month) for up to 12 months.
Announced in December 2024, NotebookLM Plus is a subscription plan for business, enterprise, and academia users through Google Workspace, Google Cloud, and Google One AI Premium. Google said NotebookLM Plus would be available starting in early 2025, and here we are.
NotebookLM Plus subscribers receive higher usage limits on queries, audio overviews, and the number of notebooks/sources. More specifically, the plan provides management of up to 500 notebooks and 300 sources per notebook, an increase from the standard limit of 100 notebooks and 50 sources. In addition, it supports 500 chat queries and 20 audio generations per day, up from 50 queries and three audio generations.
With it being a part of Google One AI Premium, users can take advantage of it without needing to be a part of a corporate plan. Creators, entrepreneurs, and those passionate about AI who use a Google One-enabled device like the Pixel can easily leverage the advanced AI app.
Students taking advantage of the Google One AI Premium plan discount must verify their eligibility on Google’s website. Or they can sign up for a one-month trial to test Google’s AI.
