Social media makes linking awfully tough

In a majority of my posts, I link to a lot of folks, but there are times when I wonder what’s the right place to link to. I’d like to be consistent in my linking and perhaps the obvious choice is the person’s website and that’ll probably solve all my problems right there. But what if a person doesn’t actually have a website. Yes, believe it or not there may be someone without a website. But then the question is how can I link to them?

With all the social media “pages” out there, it can be quite difficult to figure out which to link to. Do I choose their Twitter page? Facebook page? MySpace page? LinkedIn page? Which should I choose?
