Samsung is expected to announce its newest lineup of foldable phones and smartwatches at its latest Galaxy Unpacked event, set to take place on July 22. Speculation among the media and pundits is that we could see the new Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra, along with the next-generation Galaxy Watch. There’s also a chance Samsung may unveil its XR Galaxy Glasses, the wearable powered by Android XR. One thing is pretty much guaranteed: There will be more AI announced.

And that’s a wrap on Samsung Galaxy Unpacked! Thanks for tuning in! 👋

Samsung expects the XR glasses to hit the market this fall via Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

That said, I’m sure that nine hours is going to be sufficient for most people, especially since they’re not using the AI features non-stop.

Based on what we’re seeing now, there are some concerns I have:
• For those needing low bridge frames, has Samsung thought about this? Will the XR glasses have nosepads?
• What about those who need to wear glasses all day? Taking them off after nine hours is going to be a deal breaker probably. I suppose those who have money to buy these XR glasses will be able to afford another pair that they can always carry around with them, huh?

Samsung says its XR glasses are lighter than most AI glasses. Designed with 9 hours on a single charge. Case can charge the glasses more than seven times.

Osterloh says that Gemini Notebook is going to come pre-installed on every Samsung Galaxy foldable.

Osterloh says Google has been evolving Android from an operating system to an intelligence system—the reason for Gemini Intelligence (sorry, I incorrectly said “Google Intelligence” earlier).

It’s not a Samsung Unpacked without Google getting a speaking slot.

Okay, Rick Osterloh from Google is now on stage to join Won Joo-Choi. Time to talk about Google Intelligence.

We’re talking about Quick Share being expanded to other platforms to make sharing of information easier. And there’s also QR Sharing so no new app download is required.

Won Joo-Choi, President and COO of MX Business, is now on stage to talk about the Galaxy ecosystem. Are we going to get more details about the smartglasses?

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is first Samsung watch to meet EN13319 standard—the one for diving activities. Shows depth, water temperature, and dive time. Partnered with Mares to bring proven dive algo to Watch Ultra 2. Transformed it into a dive computer. This is a shot against Apple Watch. New features include no decompression limit guidance and nitrogen absorption monitoring and adjustable gradient factors—all features exclusive to Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 for two years.
