In 2019, Flipboard partnered with Digital Trends to launch Tech Briefs, a weekly technology-focused news segment anchoring Digital Trends’ Friday morning livestream. It was Flipboard’s first co-branded podcast and ran for more than 50 episodes over two years, reaching audiences live on Digital Trends’ website and YouTube, and available on demand on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify.
As Flipboard’s Technology Editor, I co-hosted Tech Briefs with Digital Trends’ Greg Nibler. I led the editorial side, sifting through the week’s tech news to curate three to four stories to drive each ten-minute broadcast. Coverage spanned flagship device launches from Apple, Google, and Samsung; on-the-ground reporting from the industry’s biggest stages, including CES, Mobile World Congress, F8, and the Game Developers Conference; and the consumer announcements shaping the broader tech conversation.
Tech Briefs demanded a sharp editorial filter, live-broadcast composure, and the ability to translate dense industry news into segments that worked for a general audience. Every week. On Deadline. Across two distinct editorial brands.
Press Coverage
Tech Briefs’ launch drew coverage from Digiday, which not only named me as a co-host but also highlighted the partnership as part of Flipboard’s push to broaden its relationship with publishers.
