2014-2015

During my time at Orange Silicon Valley, the research group published a slate of industry reports spanning the rise of startup unicorns, the future of IT, big data, customer service, and a deep dive into machine learning. Each one was an exploration into the forces reshaping the technology landscape. As the strategy and research content lead, I provided editorial support, including proofreading, coordinating contributors, and go-to-market (GTM) support when it came time to promote the research.

‘Unicorns, Startups & Giants’

This report analyzed 60 technology companies with valuations over $1 billion that collectively accounted for $232 billion in market value at the time of publication. The research indicated that these so-called “unicorns” became new engines of disruption, reshaping the competitive landscape.

I oversaw the promotion of this report, crafting the press release, working with an external PR firm to conduct press outreach, and providing media training to Orange Silicon Valley’s CEO in preparation for interviews. We secured coverage for “Unicorns, Startups, and Giants” in The Wall Street Journal.

‘Who Cares?!’

Who Cares?! explored how technology is helping organizations better connect with customers. In addition to editorial support, I co-produced a launch event hosted by Orange Silicon Valley, securing participation from Lyft’s former Vice President of People, Ron Storm, as the evening’s keynote speaker.
