The Conversation PrismSocial Media Strategist

The new frontier for web marketing is social media. Companies are now finding out that their marketing messages aren't working as they traditionally have. Now users have control and are finding ways to communicate with each other on a faster and more powerful medium: social networks.

From Twitter to Facebook to geo-location services, the Internet is becoming very inter-connected with websites now linking to social networks and sharing data, people are able to update their friends from their mobile phones and even do business from their smartphones. And now there's this sense of community in social networks? What's that about?

That's my job...I'm here to help your brand figure out how to make sense of social media and how not to have it operate in a silo. As a proponent for social media, I strongly believe that these tools can really benefit a company...as long as they're willing to listen and talk to their customers and truly believe in what they're saying. Social media has become the virtual version of a face-to-face conversation and most people will take what you say in either a positive or negative way. You're not going to be able to push your content out there and hope it gets picked up.

What can I do for you? I'll help you understand this social media "phenomenon" and how you can adapt to it and make your brand presence online that much stronger. No, it's not about creating a Twitter account and posting customer service updates on there that will make you rockstars of this web 2.0 world. Let's think about the possibilities that may exist beyond holding contests and building out coupons for frequent visitors. How can a viral video benefit your business and how can you leverage a Facebook fan page to help penetrate the market? I'll help you determine what social networks are right for you and who you need to target as influencers to make sure your message gets out there.
